Future Recycling Bayside redevelopment update
Big changes are underway at Future Recycling Bayside Waste and Recycling Centre in Cheltenham.

Construction has officially begun on our redeveloped facility, with BFD Constructions leading the build. The foundations have already been poured, and the first tilt-slabs are in place. Over the next nine months, we’ll be transforming the vacant land on site into a state-of-the-art undercover 1300m² recycling facility, complete with brand-new outdoor bays for sorting of recyclable materials.

Victoria’s new waste levy: What you need to know
What is the waste levy?
As of 1 July 2025, the Victorian Government’s EPA imposes a mandatory charge per tonne of waste disposed at landfill sites – called the waste levy. This applies to municipal, industrial and priority waste. The levy is a government policy, completely outside the control of local transfer stations or waste service providers
